The COVID-19 pandemic has made workers weary about what to do if they fall ill or need to care for a family member who has become sick with coronavirus or a child whose school has closed due to the outbreak. In response to these concerns, the federal government passed a new sick leave law, called the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. Though well-intentioned, the law is unsurprisingly imperfect.
